As the parents of Amadeus and Cecilia, preserving a healthy natural environment is especially important to us. We hope that, in the future as well, we’ll have an environment where people and nature live in harmony. That’s why it goes without saying that we want to do our part. Care from the Bregenzerwald

To ensure your well-being, we use high-quality products from Metzler Molke in our rooms and in the wellness area. These special skincare products are crafted by a small manufacturer in the Bregenzerwald that pays close attention to detail. Quality and short supply chains!

Water

Specifically, this means that instead of transporting bottles of mineral water for kilometers across the region, we prefer to offer our wonderful Damüls water. Furthermore, we believe the Grander method makes it even better.

It is served either as classic still water or sparkling water. All the water in the hotel is Grander water, and guests may help themselves to it in their rooms free of charge. For consumption in the restaurant, we charge standard mineral water prices.

Water is a precious resource, and when it comes to laundry detergent, we also place great importance on products from Hollu, a company with multiple certifications. Here, too, you can help save water and especially wastewater:

A towel hanging up means “I’ll use this one again”; a towel on the floor means “Please replace it!”

Electricity and heating

To be even more energy-efficient alongside our local electricity provider, VKW—which, as is well known, generates electricity from hydropower—we’ve had a solar panel system installed on the roof of our house since June 2022. This allows us to use the solar energy we generate right here at home, reducing our reliance on imported electricity even further.

For more information about VKW, please visit their website! The cozy warmth in the house doesn’t just come from the furnishings or the people living in the rooms — it’s supplied to the house via district heating from the Damüls biomass plant!

Minibars

Although we have fridges in the rooms, they are always unplugged so as not to waste unnecessary energy. If you want the fridge switched on and maybe even filled, simply let Manuela or René know and we’ll happily arrange it.

What does “quality” or a “selection that matches the price” actually mean? There’s no clear-cut answer here, and everyone will interpret it differently.

For us, quality clearly means that we know our suppliers, that they can provide information about their products, their origin, and how they’re processed, and that they can maintain short supply chains:

Fresh deliveries from Grabher (34 km), Fohrenburg Brewery (31 km), and Grissemann Bludenz’s dry goods selection (35 km), to name just a few.

Nicht alles muss zu jeder Jahreszeit auf dem Teller landen. Weniger Fleisch zu konsumieren und uns bewusster ernähren, ohne dabei etwas zu vermissen - davon überzeugen wir euch gerne. Wir lassen der Kreativität unseres Küchenteams freien Lauf und werden täglich neu überrascht, was aus regionalen, frischen, gesunden Lebensmitteln Tolles entsteht.

Traditionelles entdecken wir neu und schätzen dies sehr! In einem so großartigen Weinland wie Österreich benötigen wir keine Weine aus der ganzen Welt, sondern Österreich und seine direkten Nachbarn haben hervorragende Tropfen in bester Qualität, ohne lange Lieferwege! Wir streben nicht nach Masse, sondern nach Qualität, die schmeckt!

We lead by example: we don’t leave trash behind in nature, and we don’t trample through the tall “forage grass.” Take the time to enjoy the beauty of our Damüls landscape. Stop for a moment and listen to the sounds of nature.

Watch the children as they run and play in the meadows or in the woods, or simply be grateful for all that we have! Greet others with a smile—it’s so wonderful to be in this world! We’re already looking forward to having pleasant conversations with you today!
